Crochet an easy baby blanket with velvet yarn! Enjoy the simplicity of the Amilishly´s free pattern
My name is Alexa, I´m 29 years old and the designer behind @Amilishly. Until February 2018 I worked as a nurse in an oncology department in a hospital. I quit this job to pursue my dream of designing full time for Amilishly. I´m spending all my time on designing crochet and knitting patterns, of which my amigurumi are my favorite. You can know me from my doll Elsa who has fun adventures with me, or from my recently released book: Amilishly Dolls, a Dutch book containing twelve Japanese-inspired amigurumi patterns. Today I´m sharing my Buddy Lars Baby Blanket made with Katia Velvet Fine. Scroll down for my free crochet pattern!
Made with Velvet Fine
Velvet yarns are very popular at the moment for making soft cuddly toys for babies and children. I wanted to discover what the yarn would do with textures. I decided to make a baby blanket pattern, because a lot of my friends are pregnant or just had a child. Less is more and for this design I was inspired by the minimalist trend: I could let the yarn do its work to create a beautiful structure. Thanks to the fun structure of the Velvet Fine yarn, babies can play and experience with different structures playfully.
