Semicircular crochet shawl
Let’s reformulate a traditional saying: Do not let the olive branch (or crochet hook) fall from my hand. During the Olivera CAL, we suggest making a semicircular crochet shawl with the help of patterns, charts, and step-by-step videos, so that you can work at your own pace, with great attention to detail. We will share a pattern split into 4 parts and a border. Each part consists of 2 sections in two different colors. Finally, we teach you how to finish off the work with a classic shell border.

Olivera CAL
To take part in the CAL, all you need is the Olivera CAL Katia Kit and to be part of the Facebook group where we will share the patterns and videos to make the shawl.
Project. A seamless semicircular shawl alternating different stitch and color sections. This design by @bykaterinadesigns is inspired by the Mediterranean countryside, by olive groves, by tradition.
Start. This CAL begins on April 6, 2022.
Duration. 4 weeks to make your project at your own pace, share progress, ask questions, or help other participants. Each week, we’ll share how to crochet a section consisting of stitch blocks.
Pattern and videos
Once the CAL has started, in the Facebook group you’ll find each pattern section PDF with charts and links to the videos to crochet each shawl section. The patterns will be available in 6 languages: English, Spanish, French, Dutch, German, and Italian.
Materials. You need an Olivera CAL Katia Kit with 5 balls of Cotton-Cashmere by Concept by Katia in new colors: 1 ball in broom yellow (78), ivory (81), off-white (53) and two balls in pine green (79). We also recommend using the following notions (not included in the kit): 4-mm crochet hook, tapestry needle and scissors.
Measurements. The Olivera Shawl measures approximately 150 x 55 x 220 cm (wide x high x semi-circumference).
What is a CAL?
A CAL (Crochet-Along) means to follow a crochet pattern at the same time as other crocheters, during the same period of time. Which really means, “an online meeting point” where crocheters from all over the work can meet; learn something new or a different way of working, for example, a stitch that you’d already seen; help other people to continue with their work thanks to your experience; but, above all, a CAL is for sharing your time and your passion for crochet.
