All over eyelets
🎁 We start with a free pattern that shows how to knitthis half sleeve polo with lapel and collar. There is no doubting the elegance of this cool, lightweight basic eyelet stitch. Play with a range of different lace eyelet patterns to knit a waistcoat made up of unequal lace motifs.
Little (big) details
To paraphrase the famous saying: It’s the eyelet details that make the difference. Like, for example, on this feminine halter neck knit top with a delicate floral detail, or this luminous V neck top with an eye catching lace panel at the sides.
Casual stripes
Look amazing in a cool summer top with simple horizontal lace stitch stripes. We propose this easy to knit strap top with only 3 balls of Katia Fair Cotton. Or how about this lightweight sweater with a distinctive striped lace pattern. Or a short sleeve top with a simple vertical stripe lace design.
Elegant lace
Knitted lace stitch bolero in a distinguished black-gold colour. The lace stitch and metallic black yarn definitely convert this little jacket into a jewel. We repeat the previous formula in this elegant fine strap top with a lustrous and romantic leaf shape lace. Lastly, every lace knit lover must have a spectacular shawl or wrap amongst their projects.
How to knit lace stitch
You only need to know a couple of techniques to be able to start knitting lace. The patterns are usually the result of combining yarn overs (YO) and decreases = knitting 2 stitches together (K2 tog). You get an eyelet hole when you work a yarn over (YO) and increase one stitch. When you knit 2 stitches together, decrease this additional stitch.
In our magazines we always include a graph for each pattern, from the simplest lace designs to the most elaborate ones. Why not start a lace stitch project now! 🎁 We are gifting these two lace knit patterns to start you off, or to help you perfect the art of lacey shawls.
