First get together: Family & Katia Fabrics: A presentation of the new SS19 collection and sewing workshop
Emotion, excitement, nerves and a lot of hard work behind our first “Family & Katia Fabrics” encounter. We presented the new SS19 collection and taught a beautiful tote bag sewing workshop.
On the 23rd of March, which coincided with the International Patchwork Festival in Sitges, we spent a very entertaining morning. Surrounded by fabrics, seams and laughter. 11 guests, accompanied by their families, joined us and enjoyed taking part in a different kind of event full of creativity.
On the table waiting for us were a number of beautiful handmade fabric bags. Made from our “MAGIC DREAM” poplin, which included various surprises. Among them was a package full of our different fabrics: poplin, jersey, summer sweat, denim and canvas.
We talked about the new SS19 OFF-Holidays collection and showed, in situ, the sample patterns and fabrics. The guests could touch, feel, sew and even try on our patterns.
Tote Bag Sewing Workshop
To transmit our love of sewing, we prepared a beautiful workshop showing how to sew a reversible Tote Bag with pocket from scratch. Firstly we used our resistant CANVAS fabric to make it. This 100% cotton is ideal for making all kinds of backpacks, bags, toiletry bags and all types of accessories.
We would like to give a huge thank you to BERNINA sewing machines Spain. For allowing us to use their fantastic, comfortable and convenient to use Bernette machines. These are excellent quality, silent machines.
The workshop was given by the well know social media personality Marian Garcia from @nairamkitty. Who by the way, was wearing an awesome crossover dress made from our Arty Pineapple jersey.

Some of the cakes were even inspired by the new collection, a great idea don’t you think? This was made possible by @convdeverocc, a Patisserie and Catering project with a huge heart.
