Homemade Christmas Decorations

1. Little Christmas Trees

A simple and cheap way to make Christmas decorations is to make small decorations with Christmas fabrics. On this occasion, we suggest that you create these little fabric trees to flood your house with illusion. The best thing of all is that you can make them with the kids and spend a great afternoon making handicrafts with them.

Materials

• Leftovers or small pieces of canvas fabric: Canvas Slim Xmas Gnomes.
• Cardboard
• Ribbon in your preferred colour
• 2 long wooden sticks (bamboo skewers, for example)
• Wadding type padding
• Wooden base
• Hot glue gun

Cut out the cardboard in the form of a tree. Use the hot glue to stick the 2 wooden sticks onto the cardboard tree to form the trunk.

Use the hot glue again, it is not necessary to use a sewing machine, to stick the fabric to the card. Then, trim the excess fabric around the edges to achieve the tree shape.

You can decide whether to leave everything as it is, or if you want to add a cord wrapping around the trunk to decorate it.

Use hot silicone to stick the ribbon in the colour of your choice to the base of the tree.

You have nearly finished. You only need a wooden base to make sure that your little tree stays upright. Ready, your first Christmas decoration is finished.

2. Christmas Stocking

To make the Christmas stocking project, you will need 2 pieces of fabric from the Xmas collection and the free pattern that we are shaping in this post. Follow the step-by-step instructions in the video-tutorial to learn how to sew this Christmas stocking.

• Free stocking pattern
• 13 3/4″ (35 cm) of Christmas poplin and 13 3/4″ (35 cm) of the canvas fabric with a Christmas print design
• 5 7/8” (15 cm) of ribbon
• Matching sewing thread

• Ruler, paper and pencil
