Enjoy the Tårta Sweater by @vicky.knits! Knit this bottom-up sweater in size S-M-L-XL with chunky yarn
Hi! My name is Vicky, and I am a knitter based in London. I discovered my passion for knitwear design in my second year of college. After finishing my apprenticeship with an Italian knitwear manufacturer, I decided to share my work with the knitting community on Instagram. T. It has grown since then and here I am, sharing my second ever self-made pattern with you on katia.com. I currently run vicky.knits in my tiny room in London. Designing, knitting and photographing all my little pieces with a lot of help from my friends and my very patient boyfriend. I love to work with chunky and fluffy yarns and when I saw Katia Ingenious Big yarn, I knew I wanted to make something beautiful with it. Below you can find my Tårta Sweater, a bottom-up sweater pattern in size S-XL.
Bottom-up sweater
The Tårta Sweater is a bottom-up knitting pattern made with Katia Ingenious Big. This jumper pattern is inspired by Scandinavian furniture and accessories. It features light and mellow colours, 80s soft twists and twirls and oversized shell jackets. The soft blend of pale and wintry colours on the fluffy fibres gives this bottom-up sweater a comfy, minimalist look with a cozy palette. This is why it is named the Tårta Sweater, just like a piece of delicious Swedish cake.
Pattern in size S, M, L, XL
This pattern includes chain cable stitch details at the front and the back of the sweater, knit and purl stitches and playfully shaped sleeves. Size M is modelled in the pictures, but we have also provided adjustments to resize into sizes S, L or XL. Above all, it is suitable for beginner knitters with some experience. The toughest parts are the chain cable knitting pattern, but they are explained with pictures. As a result, the fit is cropped and oversized, creating a cozy look. In short, the jumper matches well with a simple pair of pants or a skirt. Of course, you can also choose different yarns to mix and get creative. Therefore, just check out katia.com for more inspiration!
