What is an Emotional Support Chicken?
An Emotional Support Chicken is more than just an Amigurumi; it’s a large, soft, and comforting companion. Its pear shape and soft texture make it the perfect cushion: for hugging while you rest, for resting your arms while you knit, or simply for adding a fun and cozy touch to your home. You’ll want to cuddle it!
Plush feel with Katia Bambi and Velvet Mini
To make sure this XL Amigurumi chicken is 100% cuddly, the choice of yarn is key. That’s why we combined two of our softest yarns:
Katia Bambi
A chenille with spectacular volume. It’s what gives it that fluffy body and makes the project progress very quickly.
Katia Velvet Mini
Perfect for the details of the beak and comb. Its velvety finish provides a very professional and delicate contrast of textures.

Row 2: sc8, fold in half, form an arch and sew to the head.
Repeat as many times as combs you want to add to the head of the chicken, making more or less starting chains so that it follows the shape of the head. For example, make the next comb with 13 starting chain stitches so that it is larger than the previous one.
Lastly, weave in all ends and embroider the eyes using black yarn to add expression to the chicken.
