Proyekto Amigurumi | Colorful camera crochet pattern by Actante Dourada

Materials

1 Tapestry sewing needle

Crochet hook size 2.5 mm

Wadding (filling material)

Any of the Katia Amigurumi 100% Cotton selection kits

Stitches

Chain st, single crochet, magic ring, increase, decrease.

* Triple increase = work 3 single crochet in the same st.

Colour guide

To make the most of the Katia Amigurumi 100% cotton selection, Actante Dourada proposes that the pattern colours can be chosen as desired. The cameras are made with a gradient of 5 colours alternating on every row, another colour for the camera lens and another colour to embroider the camera with. So the nice thing is that each person chooses the colour combination that he or she likes best.

Basic Pattern

1. Main body of camera

We will work in a spiral form. The colour changes will be made on every new row.

1^st  r. Chain 11 sts.

2^nd r. Start to add single crochet sts around the chain sts (leaving a chain st at the edge), 9 single crochet, triple increase, 8 single crochet, increase. (Total = 22 sts)

3^rd r. Triple increase , 8 single crochet, triple increase, 1 single crochet, triple increase, 8 single crochet, triple increase, 1 single crochet. (Total = 30 sts)

 4^th r. 1 single crochet, triple increase, 10 single crochet, triple increase, 3 single crochet, triple increase, 10 single crochet, triple increase, 2 single crochet. (Total = 38 sts)

5^th r. 2 single crochet, triple increase, 12 single crochet, triple increase, 5 single crochet, triple increase, 12 single crochet, triple increase, 3 single crochet. (Total = 46 sts)

6^th r. 3 single crochet, triple increase, 14 single crochet, triple increase, 7 single crochet, triple increase, 14 single crochet, triple increase, 4 single crochet. (Total = 54 sts)

7^th r. (Picking up half the single crochet st only to make an edge) 4 single crochet, decrease, 15 single crochet, decrease, 8 single crochet, decrease, 15 single crochet, decrease, 4 single crochet. (Total = 50 sts)

8^th r. – 13^th r.  50 single crochet.

Cut yarn and fasten off.

2. Camera cover.

1^st  r. Chain 11 sts.

2^nd r. Start to add single crochet sts on the chain sts (leaving a chain st at the edge), 9 single crochet, triple increase, 8 single crochet, increase. (Total = 22 sts)

3^rd r. Triple increase , 8 single crochet, triple increase, 1 single crochet, triple increase, 8 single crochet, triple increase, 1 single crochet. (Total = 30 sts)

 4^th r. 1 single crochet, triple increase, 10 single crochet, triple increase, 3 single crochet, triple increase, 10 single crochet, triple increase, 2 single crochet. (Total = 38 sts)

5^th r. 2 single crochet, triple increase, 12 single crochet, triple increase, 5 single crochet, triple increase, 12 single crochet, triple increase, 3 single crochet. (Total = 46 sts)

6^th r. 3 single crochet, increase, 14 single crochet, increase, 7 single crochet, increase, 14 single crochet, increase, 4 single crochet. (Total = 50 sts)

Cut yarn and fasten off.

3. Lens

1^st r. Magic ring (total = 6 sts).

2^nd r. 6 increases (total = 12 sts).

3^rd r. [1 single crochet, 1 increase] x 6 (total = 18 sts).

4^th r. [2 single crochet, 1 increase] x 6 (total = 24 sts).

5^th r. [3 single crochet, 1 increase] x 6 (total = 30 sts). All in the same colour so the lens can be distinguished from the rest of the camera.

6^th r. [4 single crochet, increase] x 6 (total = 36 sts).

7^th r. (Picking up half the single crochet st only to make an edge) 36 single crochet.

8^th r – 11^th r. 36 single crochet.

Cut yarn and fasten off.

4. Button

1^st r. Magic ring (total = 6 sts).

2^nd r. 6 increases (total = 12 sts).

3^rd r. (Picking up half the single crochet st only to make an edge) 12 single crochet.

Cut yarn and fasten off.

5. Embroidery

Embroidery stitches: chain stitch alternating with basting stitch.

6. Seams and joining

Fill the main body of the camera with wadding, join together with the cover matching them stitch for stitch and sew.

Fill the lens and sew it in the middle of the camera.

Fill the button and sew it to one corner of the upper part of the camera.
