Learn how to sew the world map children´s panel with the new Canvas Slim fabric

24 June, 2021

Today we sew together an educational panel of the most fun, the Ice Cream World. An original world map children´s panel and 18 animal figures to place and play on it. We have recorded the process, so you can see how easy it is to sew it. In one afternoon you will have it ready to enjoy. It is made of the new Canvas Slim, a resistant fabric that is very comfortable to sew. If you want to know the rest of the panels of the new Spring Summer 2021 collection, visit the blog post HERE. Decorate and learn with this simple sewing. Play with your little ones, while they learn the 6 continents and which animals are most frequent in each of them.

A perfect project for beginners where you will learn many sewing techniques: how to hem, how to attach Velcro, and how to fill in the shapes. The materials and step-by-step instructions in English come in the panel itself.

1- Cut out the rectangle of the world map well.

2- Make a 1 cm double hem on all four sides, iron and sew.

3- Cut the Velcro into pieces 3 cm long. Sew the roughest side to the marks on the panel.

4- For each animal cut out its two pieces and sew the soft part of the Velcro on the back.

5- Face the two pieces of the animal, front and back, and sew the entire contour except for one space of about 5 cm to turn around.

6- Make small cuts with the scissors in the curved areas and turn each figure. Iron.

7- Fill with fiber filling to taste and sew the opening by hand using a blind stitch.

8- Repeat steps 5 to 7 with the rest of the figures.

9- Hang the panel on the wall.
