Concept Reiki 🧶 Color combinations

For this seamless top-down sweater, Virginie uses Concept Reiki, a carded yarn with a luxurious blend of Superfine alpaca, merino and polyamide. For the sleeves, she has used the color fuchsia 113 by Concept Reiki, which is currently discontinued. Free seamless top-down sweater pattern

A sweater seamlessly knit in the round from the neckline down, with raglan sleeves. A simple design with colorblock puffed sleeves, ideal to knit with carded yarn like Concept Reiki. Its lightweight and fluffy texture makes it a modern staple, available in sizes XS to 5XL.

Stitches and techniques

  • Stockinette stitch in the round: knit all sts. ▶️ SEE VIDEO
  • Knit through the back loop (k tbl). ▶️ SEE VIDEO
  • Make 1 left (M1L): with the left-hand needle, pick up the strand in between two stitches, from front to back and, with the right-hand needle, knit this strand through the back loop (twisted). ▶️ SEE VIDEO
  • Make 1 right (M1R): with the left-hand needle, pick up the strand in between two stitches, from back to front and, with the right-hand needle, knit this strand through the front loop. ▶️ SEE VIDEO
  • 1×1 twisted rib: k1 tbl, p1, repeat to end of round. ▶️ SEE VIDEO
  • Double collar: fold the twisted rib neckband down and bind off each stitch by knitting it together with the corresponding cast-on stitch. ▶️ SEE VIDEO

Notes

  • This sweater is knit seamlessly top-down in the round.
  • The yoke includes raglan increases.
  • The neckband is worked in twisted rib and folded down to create a double collar.
  • You split the sleeves and body after the yoke and knit them separately.
  • The hem of the body and sleeve cuffs are also knit in 1×1 twisted rib.
  • On the round where you split for sleeves, remove all the markers except the BOR marker.
  • In the pattern, the rounds are numbered and adapted to each size from a) XS to i) 5XL.

Collar and yoke

With color A, cast on 68 sts with 5.5-mm circular knitting needles. Join in the round and place the BOR marker.

Setup round

Sl BOR m, k3 tbl, pm, p1, work 8 sts in 1×1 twisted rib, pm, k3 tbl, pm, p1, work 18 sts in 1×1 twisted rib, pm, k3 tbl, pm, p1, work 8 sts in 1×1 twisted rib, pm, k3 tbl, pm, p1, work 18 sts in 1×1 twisted rib.

  • Total: 68 sts with 8 m.

Continue working in the round until piece measures 8 cm.

Yoke increases

R1: sl BOR m, *k3 tbl, sm, k to next m, sm*, rep to end of r.

R2: sl BOR m, *k3 tbl, sm, M1L, k to next m, M1R, sm*, rep to end of r.

Repeat these 2 increase rounds until you have: a) 32, b) 38, c) 44, d) 48, e) 54, f) 58, g) 64, h) 68, i) 74 rounds.

In the end, you will have: a) 196, b) 220, c) 244, d) 260, e) 284, f) 300, g) 324, h) 340, i) 364 stitches.
