My Katia Version x Linda Daas 🍬 Striped crochet baby dress
This year at Katia, we’re celebrating our 75th anniversary by inviting members of the knitting community to participate in My Katia Version. In this blog series, designers, yarn stores, and fans reinterpret classic Katia patterns, adding their own personal touch. This time, designer Linda Daas, from @wolgelukjes, shares her own version of a crochet baby dress from the Katia Baby 108 magazine. The result is a cheerful, colorful striped garment made with Katia Alexandria mercerized cotton, created as a very special gift for her niece.

Linda Daas is passionate about creating beautiful things, especially using crochet, although knitting and sewing are also part of her creative universe. She designs and knits clothing, home accessories, and scarves, sharing her patterns on Instagram. Linda has collaborated several times with the Katia blog, sharing how to make a cabled headband with a matching cowl and a floral crochet cardigan. Both patterns are free!
Striped crochet baby dress
The original Katia baby dress pattern is designed in a single solid color. However, for her version, Linda chose three shades to create a subtle striped pattern.
“I recently became an aunt to a baby girl and wanted to crochet her a beautiful dress. I chose this cute pattern and used three colors so I could pick up the yarn at the beginning of each row. This saved me a lot of time by not having to weave in so many ends! I think colors 34, 39, and 10 look wonderful together.”

To make it, she used Katia Alexandria, a fine, 100% mercerized cotton yarn with great yardage. This yarn is available in 25 colors and has been specially developed for delicate crochet projects, such as garments and classic accessories.
Your version inspires us!
Small color adjustments and details make each pattern unique. That’s precisely what My Katia Version is all about: rediscovering classic designs through new styles and personal choices.
