Katia Gentile Merino comes all the way from the south of Italy, a high-quality merino wool with centuries of history. It goes back to the 15th century, when local sheep were crossed with Merino breed Spanish rams by the Spanish kings in the Papal States. Since then, careful breeding over the years by stockbreeders in Puglia and Abruzzo has resulted in the current breed called Merino Gentile di Puglia.
With each ball of Katia Gentile Merino, you support the values of a project that certifies the origin and traceability of high-quality 100% Italian wool. Make unique garments with the finesse, resistance, and purity of a merino wool produced following rigorous quality control.
Feel the tradition and exclusivity of Katia Gentile Merino in your hands.

More and more knitters are interested about the origin of the wonderful Merino Wool and about the conditions of the Merino sheep. At Katia we want you to continue enjoying, without any worries, the recognized benefits of Merino Wool in the manufacture of your garments. For this reason, in addition to the Mulesing Free seal, which guarantees that no Australian sheep has undergone this practice, a large part of the 100% Merino Wool in our catalog comes from South America.
