This winter, we invite you to take another step in your handmade sewing journey with the 2026 Katia Fabrics SAL. For two weeks, let’s sew a feather-effect vegan faux-fur skirt together, a creative fashion garment full of personality, perfect for creating unique looks handmade by you.

A project guided by @andreacondes, designed to learn, enjoy the process and discover a different fabric while you sew with the community.

What are we making?

In this SAL, creator @andreacondes will keep you company every step of the way while making a feather-effect vegan faux-fur skirt, teaching you how to create your own pattern based on your measurements and work with the spectacular Vegan Feather fabric by Katia Fabrics in a simple and accessible way.

This project is suitable for beginners with basic sewing notions, ideal if you want to start sewing garments and dare to use a unique fabric.

✂️ Materials needed to sew the Feather skirt

To make this project, you need:

• Vegan Feather fabric by Katia Fabrics
• Elastic measuring 5 cm wide
• Sewing thread
• Pins
• Scissors
• Basic sewing notions

⚠️ You do not download the skirt pattern: it is explained step by step in the video and will be made based on your own measurements.

We want to sew with you! Taking part is simple:

1. Buy the fabrics you need at katia.com
2. Join the Katia Fabrics Sew-along Facebook group
3. Follow the step-by-step video tutorials
4. Share your progress using the #FeatherSkirt hashtag to enter the giveaway of a set of Katia Fabrics products.

All the SAL content will be shared in our Katia Fabrics Sew-Along Facebook group, where you can solve your questions, share your progress and connect with other sewists.

📅 SAL calendar

• February 6, 2026 – 8 a.m. (CET) → Start of SAL and welcome in the Sew-Along Katia Fabrics Facebook group.
• February 12, 2026 – 8 p.m. (CET) → Publication of video part 1, where you will learn how to create the pattern from scratch.
• February 19, 2026 – 8 p.m. (CET) →Video tutorial part 2, where you will learn how to make the skirt step by step.
• March 6, 2026 – 12 p.m. (CET) → End of SAL with a special giveaway among all the participants who complete the project.

Sew together and take part in the giveaway

This SAL is an invitation to sew slowly, learn something new and enjoy the creative process in company. Share your progress, inspire others and show off your finished skirt.

At the end of the SAL, we will do a giveaway among all the people who have completed the project with Katia Fabrics. Share your photos or videos on social media with the #FeatherSkirt hashtag and tag @katiafabrics. Then you will be automatically entered into the giveaway of a set of Katia Fabrics products, which will be held on March 6.
