@ESTER_MISSDIY

My name is Ester, I am 33 years old and I’ve loved handicrafts since I was small. I grew up watching my grandmother knit with two needles – day and night – for all the family. I remember her with so much love, with her mountain of yarns and magazines that I loved to browse through. She used to ask me: Which jumper do you want me to make you next? And within a few weeks she already had it done. She was amazing! When I was 8 years old I asked her to show me how to make some booties for my teddy bear. From that moment I fell in love with knitting.

I also learnt to sew things thanks to my mother, a clothing designer by profession, who taught me something every day. As I was growing up, although I didn’t knit very much, I was fascinated by DIY and I learned by teaching myself. Then I opened a Youtube channel where I shared everything: t-shirt yarn rugs, recycled items and I even showed how to lay a table. But the tutorials that I liked best were the crochet ones, my favourites. That’s why I now share my crochet creations, concerns and future projects on my blog and Youtube channel.

Anek Cushion @ester_missdiy

#AnekCushion

To design this cushion I took inspiration from the current fashion trend for geometric pattern in home decor. The fine lines in gold on a white background add light and elegance to any space.

I decided to attach some tassels to the corners to add a lighthearted bohemian touch. I love the boho chic style. Since I wanted to make a geometric patterned project with well defined narrow lines, I chose Katia Merino Seda. It is an exceptionally soft yarn which works perfectly for this project.

What I undoubtedly like best about it is its marbled effect, which gives it a slightly rustic feel.
