About Brooklyn Boy Knits

Hi, I’m Louis Boria, also known as Brooklyn Boy Knits in the crafting world.  I began designing knit patterns in 2010 after teaching myself how to knit in 2008.  After learning how to read and comprehend knitting patterns early on in my journey, I realized that what was considered “beginner friendly” patterns weren’t as friendly as I had hoped.  I wanted to change this. 

As a knitwear designer, I like designing patterns with the “beginner knitter” in mind.  I focus on creating patterns that are easy to read and understand for all skill levels (sometimes even creating video tutorials to better explain my instructions).  My thought is this… “If a beginner knitter can understand my patterns, then I have truly done my job.”  Making my patterns inclusive for all is important to me.

I hope you enjoy the patterns I have created exclusively for Katia.  The Katia yarns that I have designed with are truly wonderful to work with and I highly recommend using the suggested yarns in my designs (trust me, you will thank me later lol).  I can’t wait to see my designs come to life through your hands.  Happy Knitting!
