Wavy Chevron Blanket Pattern

Put your notifications and calls on silent to connect with the “here and now” thanks to the simple repetition of wavy chevrons in the Mantra Blanket. Our salesperson Marta Palos @marta_appleface, who is the biggest fan of crochet and always on her phone for work, suggests this easy charted tutorial. “This type of project works like a mantra, which is where it gets its name from. Repeating the same stitch sequence allows you to connect with yourself, similarly to meditation.”

Easy, charted tutorial

The Mantra Blanket is an easy crochet pattern, perfect for beginners, based on repeating a wavy chevron chart. If you’re starting to crochet, this stitch sequence is really easy to memorize, which makes it the perfect project for you.

Materials. Take note! You just need 6 balls of Katia Antártida (color 302), 7 balls of Katia Canada (color 10) and a 9-mm crochet hook. As always, we encourage you to make the blanket in your favorite color combination.

Measurements. Approximately 143 x 95 cm. To make the blanket in the desired size, just chain a multiple of 14 to start, plus 3 chains up.

Step-by-step instructions to unplug from your phone

Work double crochet stitches in rows, starting each row with 3 chains up.

Start with Katia Canada and a 9-mm crochet hook:

Starting chain: 84 chains + 3 chains up

Follow the chart:

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until you’ve used up all the yarn or achieved the desired size.

Change color every 2 rows.

Once you’ve achieved the desired size, work a single crochet around the entire edge with Katia Canada.

Zigzag stripe design to suit your taste

The zigzag stripe design of this wavy chevron blanket appears by changing color every 2 rows. Make this project your own and feel free to alternate more than 2 colors, change every 2, 4, 6 or however many rows, or perhaps make a monochrome blanket.
