Interpreting <\/span>sewing patterns<\/span><\/a><\/u> is something that shouldn\u2019t be complicated, but there are many times when you have a magazine, book or sewing pattern in front of you and you just don\u2019t know where to begin.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

This is why we wanted to do this post so that we can explain to you what each of the parts of our sewing patterns are composed of.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our first<\/span> S\/S18 collection<\/span><\/a><\/u> has more than 50 different garment and accessory designs to choose from.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Each one comes in a paper envelope with the name and photograph of the design on the front.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sewing Patterns
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

The patterns are grouped together according to the level of difficulty and we have used three sewing machine symbols so you can identify each level: easy, intermediate and expert.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the back you will find information of interest relating to each pattern.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the accessory patterns<\/span> the first thing that you will see is the item represented in an outline drawing format. This makes it easy to see the design and all its details clearly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just below the drawing you will find the amount of fabric required to make the item and the specific model that we have used to made it.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the clothing patterns<\/span>, on the other hand, you will see the line drawings of both the front and the back. Just below you will find the measurement chart, in centimetres, so you can identify your size. <\/span><\/p>\n

You will also find a silhouette showing all the sizes available for each pattern marked on it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Baby<\/strong>: 1-3m, 3-6m, 6-9m & 9-12m<\/span><\/p>\n

Little<\/strong>: 12-18m, 18-24m, 2-3Y & 3-4Y<\/span><\/p>\n

Kids<\/strong>: 5-6Y, 7-8Y, 9-10Y & 11-12Y<\/span><\/p>\n

Woman\/<\/span>man<\/span><\/strong>: <\/span>XS<\/span>, S, M, L, XL & XXL<\/span><\/p>\n

On all the patterns you will also find a description of what each pattern includes: <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Full size pattern in the corresponding sizes.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Step by step instructions in 6 languages (Spanish, English, German, Italian, French and Dutch).<\/span><\/p>\n

Inside the sewing pattern
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Inside you will find the full size pattern and the step by step instructions.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the clothing patterns each size comes in a different colour so that you can easily identify your own size.
\nYou will also see a <\/span>symbol<\/span><\/strong> key on the pattern itself, the most used symbols being:<\/span><\/p>\n

– Fabric direction: Indicates the position of the selvedge when you are placing the pattern pieces on the fabric so they are cut correctly.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Cut on the fold of the fabric: When this symbol appears you must have the fabric folded.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Button: Indicates where you must position the button on the garment.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Buttonhole: Indicates where you must position the buttonhole on the garment.<\/span><\/p>\n

– <\/span>Notches\/stitch markers:<\/span> Where you must make a mark or small cut in the fabric. These are reference points which you must match together when joining the pieces.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>instructions<\/span><\/strong> are divided into various sections:<\/span><\/p>\n

1<\/span>st<\/span><\/sup>: Preparation: Basic and important instructions to keep in mind before starting to cut or sew the fabric.<\/span><\/p>\n

2<\/span>nd<\/span><\/sup>: Materials required for making up the pattern.<\/span><\/p>\n

3<\/span>rd<\/span><\/sup>: Cutting plan: here you can see how to place each pattern piece onto the fabric and <\/span><\/p>\n

whether or not they must be placed on the fold.<\/span><\/p>\n

4<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>: Sewing: Step by step instructions with illustrations on how to join the pieces together for each design.<\/span><\/p>\n

As you can see, these are very comprehensive sewing patterns that are easy to understand.<\/span><\/p>\n
