Our first collection of limited edition fabrics and sewing patterns divided into 12 Universes following the seasonal colour trends.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Each <\/span><\/span><\/span>Universe <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>features a group of coordinated fabrics in designs created exclusively for Katia Fabrics by European illustrators.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Fabric types: Poplin, jersey and canvas.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n

All the fabrics have a <\/span><\/span><\/span>cotton<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span> base: a material we have chosen because it is a 100% natural fibre and because of the interesting properties and possibilities it presents for dress making. Furthermore, it is cool, easy to work with, breathable and has a soft handle.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Within the range of cotton fabrics, depending on the way in which the lengths of yarn are crossed over each other during production, it is possible to create fabrics with more or less body. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In our first collection you\u2019ll find poplin, jersey and canvas.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span><\/span><\/span>poplin<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span> is 100% cotton and weighs 130 g\/m<\/span><\/span><\/span>2<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/sup>. This is a fine fabric with a soft agreeable handle and you can use it to sew a multitude of items like blouses, dresses and accessories.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The<\/span><\/span><\/span> jersey<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span> is 95% cotton & 5% elastane and weighs 210gr\/m<\/span><\/span><\/span>2<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/sup>. Thanks to the 5 % elastane content the jersey is the typical kind of fabric we are accustomed to for t.shirts. We have two kinds of jersey; normal and melange. The second type has a mottled appearance and tact.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Both types are equally soft and very appropriate for comfortable sports garments and accessories.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span><\/span><\/span>canvas<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span> is 100% cotton and weighs 215 g\/m<\/span><\/span><\/span>2<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/sup>. In this case the strands of yarn are woven in a particular way to form a stable fabric with a lot of body. The canvas is suitable for home projects and accessories like bags.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

12 Fabric and Sewing Pattern Universes <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Each one of the Universes is totally different to the previous one. For example, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Summer camp<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> one of our favourites, is a sweet cheerful spring time look. Comprising of four poplin fabrics with original designs like the puzzle cushion.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Arty<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> is a casual carefree look more appropriate for adults. There are 3 poplin fabrics and one jersey fabric which adds a contemporary feminine touch.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Rock<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> is fun and daring. Four soft jersey fabrics and comfortable patterns suitable for everyday wear. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span><\/span><\/span>Sea world<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> Universe is made up of two poplins and two jerseys in sea inspired prints.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
