My name is Valentina Cosciani <\/strong>–Tibisay-<\/strong>\u00a0and I live in Trieste (Italy) with my husband Paolo, my two children Leonardo and Riccardo and our cat \u00b4Strudel\u00b4. I spend lot of my time writing on my blog<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and drawing my patterns<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0I\u00b4ve learnt to knit from my Grandmother, a really elegant woman, and I have a past as a painter. These two experiences affect very much my taste and my drawings.\u00a0When I compose my patterns I look for simple lines with small details<\/strong> that make the difference.\u00a0I like to share everything I do on Instagram<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and on my Facebook<\/a><\/strong> page: keeping in touch with people that follow me is a real need!<\/p>\n

Foglia di Bardana shawl<\/h2>\n

It\u00b4s part of the collection inspired by Monti Pallidi, Italian Dolomiti\u00b4s Mountain range.\u00a0Bardana is a healing herb typical of Dolomiti mountains. Has top frame and gray elongated leaves. According to tradition, it is used to purify blood, against arthritis, stomach issues and wound care. Today it\u00b4s also recommended for skin care. \u00b4Foglia di Bardana shawl<\/strong>\u00b4 is knitted from top in a particoular way; the middle part is decorated with a simple motif <\/strong>inspired by Bardana\u00b4s leaves<\/strong>. This garment is also suitable for men.<\/p>\n

Measurements.\u00a0<\/strong>198 cm lenght x 38 cm center depth.<\/p>\n

Yarn and Needles
\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Katia Cotton – Cashmere<\/a> <\/strong>(90% cotton, 10% cashmere: 155 m \/\u00a050 gr skein), 4 skeins (600 m).
\nCircular Needles<\/a>:<\/strong> 40\u00b4 US 4\/3,5 mm or the size needed to obtain the correct gauge.
\n2 stitch markers + Tapestry needle + Blocking pins.<\/p>\n

\"Foglia<\/a><\/p>\n

Gauge.\u00a0<\/strong>19 sts. x 30 rows = 10×10 cm Stockinette stitch after blocking. However,\u00a0the gauge isn\u00b4t crucial on this project. If you want a larger Foglia di Bardana shawl<\/strong> you can enlarge it to the desired size. So, final blocking is very important to get the finished measurements!<\/p>\n
