For this plastic-free sewing challenge<\/strong>, we\u2019re collaborating with @nairamkitty<\/strong><\/a>. She will guide you step by step through 5 video tutorials<\/strong> she has prepared for you to learn how to sew a food cover<\/em>, a cutlery cover<\/em> and serviette<\/em>, a bread bag<\/em>, shopping bags<\/em>, snack and sandwich bags<\/em>. As well as a set of make-up remover disks and wipes<\/em>. Every month, a new surprise project awaits you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this new 2024 SAL, we suggest sewing 11 projects to reduce your use of plastic<\/strong> in your day-to-day life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#ZeroWasteKatiaFabrics<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Project<\/strong>: Sew 11 projects to reduce your daily use of plastic. You will sew a food cover, a cutlery cover and serviette, a bread bag, shopping bags, snack and sandwich bags.<\/em> As well as a set of make-up remover disks and wipes<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Level<\/strong>: Easy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start<\/strong>: February 29<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duration<\/strong>: 5 months. On the 29th<\/sup> of each month, we will release a new video with 2 or more projects, the challenge ends on June 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this challenge, @<\/strong>nairamkitty<\/strong><\/a> will guide you through her experience of sustainable sewing with video tutorials so that you can easily sew all the projects. The Zero Waste Challenge Sewing Kit<\/strong> contains everything you need to take part in this exciting initiative. You\u2019ll find the fabrics<\/strong> and other sewing materials you need<\/strong> like Velcro<\/strong> and elastic<\/strong> to be able to follow the challenge. Also, on the Kit label you\u2019ll find a QR code with the patterns in PDF format <\/strong>to make 11 sewing projects<\/strong>. The best part is that these patterns and video tutorials are available with subtitles in 6 different languages: English, Spanish, French, Dutch, German, and Italian. So, everyone can join in the fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participating in a\u00a0Katia Fabrics SAL<\/strong>\u00a0is super simple!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Look for our<\/strong> <\/strong>Sew-Along Katia Fabrics Facebook group<\/strong><\/a>. Join other sewing fans from around the world!<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Buy the Kit to sew your Zero Waste sewing projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Once you have purchased the Kit, you will see a QR code on the label where you can download all the patterns for FREE<\/strong>. Download them, print them, and put them together.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Finally, take part in the <\/strong>Facebook group<\/strong><\/a>. Here is where you can see when we publish a new video. You can also ask questions, share your progress and final result with the group. In the group, you\u2019ll also receive guidance and support from sewing fans from around the world and support in 6 languages (EN, ES, FR, DE, NL, IT).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. We encourage you to share tricks<\/strong>, experiences and also photos or videos<\/strong> of your progress and the result of the star pattern of this SAL.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    During the SAL, on the 29th<\/sup> of the month<\/strong>, we will publish the support videos in our Facebook group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The videos will be narrated in Spanish and include\u00a0subtitles<\/strong>\u00a0in 6 languages: English, Spanish, French, Dutch, German, and Italian. Therefore, the\u00a0pattern instructions and subtitles are available in 6 languages<\/strong>\u00a0to easily make this project. <\/p>\n\n\n
