Once you have cut out the pieces with their corresponding notches and pattern markings, you can start the <strong>making up process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"1020\" height=\"574\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/C0PLNO_3sCE?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Making the <strong>patchwork fabric<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Cut out <strong>squares of fabric<\/strong> measuring 2 3\/4 x 2 3\/4\u201d (7 x 7 cm). Once sewn they will measure 2\u201d x 2\u201d (5 x 5 cm).<\/li>\n<li>Start to sew the squares together: <strong>Sew <\/strong>the squares together in pairs, with the right sides of the fabric facing together, and <strong>iron<\/strong> the seams open.<\/li>\n<li>When all the pairs are completed, join them together in pairs, with the right sides facing, to make a larger square. Also iron this seam open.<\/li>\n<li>When we have all the squares, join them in the same manner. First, at the side to form a long strip, and then join the strips to form the final fabric.<\/li>\n<li>Next, check that all the pattern pieces fit on the fabric, and before cutting them out, <strong>quilt the fabric<\/strong> as you wish, creating vertical or horizontal lines or diamonds, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13994\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.katia.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Patchwork-quilted-jacket_1.jpg?resize=550%2C850&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"850\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Step-by-step sewing instructions for the jacket<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Once the fabric has been quilted, <strong>cut out the pattern pieces<\/strong> in both the <em>main fabric<\/em> and the <em>lining<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Join the front and back together, with the right sides facing, and sew the <strong>side seams and the shoulder seams<\/strong>. <strong>Iron all the seams<\/strong> open.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Close the sleeves,<\/strong> with the right sides of the fabric facing together, and sew the straight part.
