Once you have your table measurements, let\u2019s get started!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Recommendations<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Wash and iron the fabrics<\/strong> before starting the project.<\/li>\n<li>If you are going to make a tablecloth for a large table, as in this case, use the whole width of the fabric. Then, leave in between <strong>23 5\/8 and 31 1\/2&#8243; (60 and 80 cm)<\/strong> more for the seams and table overhang at the sides.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.katia.com\/ES\/telas-tejido-de-algodon-canvas-slim-xmas-tree-2031-11.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-13616 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.katia.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/mantel-y-servilletas.jpg?resize=550%2C850&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"How to sew a tablecloth and napkins\" width=\"550\" height=\"850\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cut the fabric<\/strong> with the measurements of the table and the napkins that you are going to make.<\/p>\n<p>Now comes the longest part, but if you want <em>perfect corners<\/em> it is very important to do the following. <strong>Iron<\/strong> a 3\/8\u201d (1 cm) fold inwards all around the tablecloth. Then, fold and press the folded edge inwards again to make a double hem. You will finish with a double hem measuring 3\/4&#8243; (2 cm) deep.<\/p>\n<p>For a reference of what this technique looks like, you have a diagram with the<strong> folds<\/strong> that must be made with the<strong> iron<\/strong> on the edges of the fabric at each corner.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-13612 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.katia.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/1.jpg?resize=550%2C380&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"how to sew perfect corners\" width=\"550\" height=\"380\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Using a ruler, make a <strong>small mark<\/strong> with a pencil at a distance of <strong>1 5\/8\u201d (4 cm) <\/strong>from the corner at each side. Then, draw a line with a ruler to join the marks together.
