She has always been particularly interested in <strong>knitted garments. <\/strong>&#8220;Using a yarn to create a garment from scratch presents a great opportunity to develop colour, volume and texture combinations together&#8221;. I live in a small village in Euskadi. &#8220;From there, I design and illustrate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/stores\/little-rita\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">knit and crochet garments and patterns<\/a>\u00a0whilst accompanying my family throughout its day-to-day adventures&#8221;. In this context, the <em>Garo Top<\/em> made with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katia.com\/EN\/yarns-spring-summer-ultrasoft-1176.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ultrasoft yarn from Katia Concept<\/a> is created: a very cool, lightweight and comfortable<em> <strong>flared<\/strong><\/em><strong> crop top with straps<\/strong>. Follow the knit pattern on<em> circular needles<\/em> to make the sensual Garo Top by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/littleritaknits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Little Rita<\/a> <strong>in one piece<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10301\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.katia.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/top-evase-tirantes-agujas-circulares-FEAT.jpg?resize=800%2C800&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"flared crop top\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Flared crop top with straps<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;This garment, with a simple structure, plays with both expansive and gathered stitches to create unusual and flattering volume proportions. The body of the top is worked in <em>fisherman\u2019s rib <\/em>with bigger size needles than would normally be used. This creates a beautiful drapey effect. The upper part of the <em>flared crop top<\/em> with straps is worked in <em>ribbing,<\/em> <em>stockinette st<\/em> and <strong>eyelet st<\/strong>. It is finished off at the top with a lacey stitch. The <strong>straps <\/strong>can be made using the <em>i-cord<\/em> method, a <strong>cable<\/strong> using the same yarn as the body or a lace trim to add a special touch. This garment has been developed for the fantastic organic cotton yarn called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katia.com\/EN\/yarns-spring-summer-ultrasoft-1176.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Ultrasoft<\/em> from <strong>Katia Concept<\/strong><\/a>. When made up it is an absolute dream to wear directly on top of your skin&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10304\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.katia.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/top-evase-tirantes-agujas-circulares-SLIDE.jpg?resize=1020%2C391&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"flared crop top\" width=\"1020\" height=\"391\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Knit pattern for circular needles<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This flared crop top is knitted in <strong>one piece<\/strong>, from bottom to top, on <strong>circular needles<\/strong>. First, a tube form is worked in <em>fisherman\u2019s rib<\/em> up to the <em>armholes<\/em> and then the <em>chest<\/em> is worked flat. The combination of volumes is created by changing the knitting needles to a small size and also changing the knit structure: from fisherman\u2019s rib (very open and expansive) to <em>1&#215;1 ribbing<\/em> (tighter and more gathered in). From here, the front is worked flat alternating <em>eyelet<\/em> stitch and <em>stockinette<\/em> stitch.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10299\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.katia.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/top-evase-con-tirantes-agujas-circulares-little-rita-2.jpg?resize=768%2C1024&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"flared crop top\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The top needs to be <em>blocked<\/em> when finished to accentuate the<strong> flared shape<\/strong> and stretch out the fisherman\u2019s rib. It is a <em>crop top<\/em>, so if you want to increase the length you will need more yarn than the recommended amount.
