Follow the Knit and Pepper pattern and knit a short flared skirt on circular needles

31 July, 2019

My name is Laura, the knitter and crocheter behind Knit and Pepper. Thanks to Coco, a short flared skirt knitted on circular needles, I am here to present myself. For some time now I’ve been based in a country house in the Madrid Sierra. This is where I share my location with my vocation for pattern design and knit and crochet classes. I can’t deny it’s an amazing adventure! I do tend to have a preference for knitting, although I also admit that crochet can produce better results depending on the project. Above all, I love to investigate, learn, mix colours and make simple, contemporary garments. This is how the Coco skirt came about: a knitting pattern on circular needles made with Katia Fair Cotton. I hope you enjoy yourself making it and wearing it this summer.

Finishing (Making up)

Use a safety pin to thread the elastic through the waistband casing and sew the ends of the elastic together. To finish, cut and sew in the loose ends of yarn.

Finally, block the short flared skirt. After dampening the skirt, dry horizontally and use pins to mark the pleats from the start of the pleats to the end, in groups of 12 sts.
