Mariona Tolosa Sisteré, the illustrator behind The Black Sheep collection and many more

21 January, 2021

Who is hiding behind each fabric? Surely you have ever wondered when one of our prints has stolen your heart. And that is why today we are going to introduce you to Mariona Tolosa Sisteré, one of the illustrators who have given life to many of our collections, such as The Black Sheep. We want to bring you a little closer to the scenes of our designs. We start with an inspirational mood board and a colorful Pantone. In the case of the black sheep collection, we were inspired by a Nordic and childlike style but at the same time sober and elegant. Black, gray, and honey yellow colors.

Mariona Tolosa Sisteré

Hello! I am Mariona Tolosa Sisteré, I was born in Barcelona in 1983, I draw because I love it and it helps me to relate journeys from the inside out. I studied illustration in Barcelona at “l’Escola de la Dona”, a space where I learned to find my universe through acrylic, pencil, collage and digital techniques. My passion for illustration led me to undertake the adventure of becoming a freelance. In these years I have been fortunate to work for a varied range of clients, from publishers, press, public institutions, to private companies and individuals, making commissions of all kinds, such as albums, articles, animations, lettering, posters, graphic image for events, portraits, textile illustration and any project that has to do with illustration.

The Black Sheep

The Black Sheep stars is a black sheep who does not hide from being the way he is. And who teaches all his friends (even the wolf!) to knit. This universe teaches us that being different from others is normal, luckily no one is the same. The protagonists of these prints are very different from each other, (classics, intellectuals, punks, and wolves) united by a passion: knitting with Katia yarns. Two fabrics, a winter sweat, and a jersey. Along with a panel to easily make 4 fun cushions.
