Learn to Knit Magic Loop Socks

We have prepared two new videotutorials, so you can learn how to knit colourwork socks. They show you how to use the magic loop method to make socks in the round with our free patterns: a colourful model with a stranded jacquard pattern and bicoloured toe-up socks with a mosaic pattern. Furthermore, with the two step-by-step videos we show you two different ways to knit the heel.

Cuff Down Socks in jacquard pattern

In the following videotutorial we show you how to knit socks in jacquard pattern. They are worked from the cuff downwards with stranded colourwork on the leg part, then a variant of the classic heel. You then continue with the foot and the toe. Finally, you will learn how to close the toe by grafting to achieve an invisible seam.

Toe-Up Socks with mosaic pattern

In this other videotutorial we show you how to knit toe-up socks, i.e. from the toe to the cuff. Starting at the toe with the magic loop technique you will then continue with the striped foot. The heel is worked with short rows. Then you go on knitting the highlight of these colourwork socks: the mosaic pattern of the leg. This simple, bicoloured pattern is achieved with slipped stitches, so you need to work with only one colour per round. Super easy and perfect for sock newbies!
