Taina Lace Knit Shawl

Valentina is sharing the step by step instructions for knitting this beautiful lace knit shawl with only one ball of Silk Degradé from the Katia Concept range. The classical triangular shawl shape, with a diamond repeat pattern, also features a border edge with a series of romantic floral bouquet motifs. Furthermore, the long cycle colour process used to dye the Silk Degradé yarn guarantees a fantastic gradient colour effect. Accordingly, the beauty and softness of the cotton, silk and viscose significantly help to ensure that this project turns into an extraordinary experience. Be sure to follow Valentina’s instructions and graphs to perfect your skills using two needles. If you want to learn more about this particular technique, read this recent post about lace stitches.

In row 9 in lace section of Tania, what does the symbol, triangle in square, mean. Since there were two yarn overs, is there a need to decrease by two?

  • liz johnstone

Hi Are there any plans to produce this pattern in written instructions ? ive bought the yarn but im unable to follow chart instructions !!

When I print the pattern, in the lace section, row 5 starts K3, SLM YO work stitches before arrow…. the chart starts with YO. Above doesn’t have the YO before work stitches. I’m assuming there should not be two YO’s along the border. Also on the bouquet section there is not a box with the dash in the legend. As a first time chart follower I was confused so reached out to other knitters to confirm. I didn’t want to get that far and do it wrong. I love the look of this shawl and can’t wait to get it made. Thank you.

  • Sandra

I love this pattern and find it very easy to knit but I am a bit confused by the needle size recommended. 3mm in US is size 2.5 not 4. Size 4 is 3.5mm not a huge difference but which was used to get the shawl out of one skein of yarn?

  • Stella patterson

Hi. I am thoroughly confused. I can’t connect the lace written directions with the chart. It seems you start the chart with row 9. I can normally read charts but this doesn’t seem to correspond with anything. hELP. Thanks. della
