How to sew perfect corners on a tablecloth or napkin step by step

How to sew perfect corners

To be able to carry out this technique, we leave you a diagram with the folds that must be made with the iron on the edges of the fabric in each corner.

 Mark the hem lines

Write down the materials you need:

  • Paper and pencil
  • Scissors
  • Pins or wonder clips
  • Marker/tailor´s chalk
  • Iron
  • Sewing machine
  • Fabric where you want to hem for perfect corners.

  1. Make two hems of the same width on each side of the fabric to the wrong side of the fabric with the iron. The width will be to your liking, and in this way they are marked.  Mark the hem lines
  2. Cut along the first diagonal line. This way the corners won´t bulge as much.

  3. Fold along the second diagonal towards the wrong side of the fabric and iron. iron the corner
  4. Fold the two hems from step 1 again and secure with pins or clips. sew perfect corners
  5. Baste the entire contour for a better finish.

  6. Sew the entire contour as you see in the photo.
