Atlántico shawl video tutorial by Marianela Galo: How to knit a crescent shawl for summer nights

12 August, 2020

Hello! My name is Marianela Galo, and I am knitwear designer. Ever since adolescence knitting has been my daily moment of rest, creativity and meditation. Like all the women in my family, I always have some kind of project on the go that fills me with enthusiasm. Over time, I have become a professional designer. Furthermore, I’m happy with what I do! The majority of my designs are inspired by places of the world or from the inspiration that a material transmits. Like this Atlántico Shawl knitted from Katia Veganette, an exclusive design for you. Follow the knitting pattern and the video tutorial to learn how to knit a crescent shawl for cool summer nights. I hope you enjoy it! I´d also like to invite you to discover my work on Instagram, Ravelry, Facebook and Youtube Knit is Tejer.

How to knit a half moon shawl

Atlántico Shawl Video tutorial

This shawl is inspired by the Atlantic, an ocean of cold waters and strong currents. The Atlántico Shawl is very easy to knit, with an original half moon or crescent shape. In addition, the 3 rows of increases across the body of the shawl carry the gaze to the ocean shores. In the following Atlántico Shawl video tutorial I will show you the first section inspired by the amplitude of the ocean. Then, the second section inspired by the sea shore and the beach. To finish, I have added vertical waves along the shawl´s border as if they were the water’s edge reaching the sea shore.
