Add your ball of yarn! This is how to help the NGO IAIA elderly solidarity projects with your grain of yarn
For many years, Katia has been working in partnership with the NGO IAIA, a non-profit organization of Labores Solidarias. Through knitting and crochet, IAIA promotes solidarity projects with the elderly in homes and residences. You already know the positive effects of knitting, both on physical and mental health. Knitting increases self-esteem, reduces stress and anxiety, encourages creativity, etc. In the last few months, many seniors have been forced to live in isolation at home or confined to residences for health security reasons. During this time, knitting and crocheting became their hobby and way of helping others: premature babies, homeless or refugees.
Add your ball of yarn!
More than ever, we believe it´s the time to send to NGO the maximum possible amount of balls. For this reason we are counting on you through our Christmas campaign Add your ball of yarn! Katia is committed to add one more ball to laiaia.org for each order placed on katia.com before December 31st. It´s so easy to contribute with your grain of wool to this valuable social work! You knit using our Katia yarns, and we make sure that elderly people can do it as well.

Seniors solidarity projects
Laiaia.org promotes active aging, using wool as a material to stimulate people involved it its different projects. You should know that elderly work as voluntary knitters in the NGO IAIA solidarity projects.
Volunteer knitters
Volunteer doing something they like, keeping themselves active as part of a solidarity action. Thus, everything knitted or crocheted by them is destined to different solidarity initiatives. Another evidence of the importance of the role of our grandmothers and grandfathers to improve our society; as well as one more example of their generosity and strength in current context.
