Crochet XL with Santa Pazienzia: Make a beautiful crochet blanket in fan stitch
Easy, fun to do, quick to make… this is what Crochet XL by Estefanía González and her Santa Pazienzia project is about. If you´re looking for crochet projects that allow you to continue learning and to relax you during your spare time, there´s no doubt that you should follow Santa Pazienzia. Estefanía is a crocheter who enjoys every stitch, but “I´m also thankful when a project has advanced considerably in an afternoon”. With this philosophy in mind she´s sharing her Crochet XL pattern, showing how to make a gorgeous blanket in fan stitch, with us on Craft Lovers. The fan stitch creates a beautiful design and is so easy to do because it´s made up of “a combination of double crochet stitches which you´ll be able to do even if you´re a beginner “.

For this crochet blanket, Estefanía has chosen Katia Big Merino because “it´s perfect… It´s soft, very warm, but above all it has a good thickness for a large project”. She made her blanket in this beautiful dark grey colour; “because it goes together well with the tones of my home, but it would be gorgeous with any of the available colours“. Although this is a Crochet XL pattern, “you can make the blanket any size you want”. The aim of Santa Pazienzia is that you´ll finally enjoy the sensation of “snuggling up on the sofa on a winter´s afternoon with a good blanket”.

Ready? Let´s go then… the blanket is made from side to side which means that every time you finish a row you turn the work. If you look at the diagram you´ll see that the same sequence of the group of stitches is always repeated. When you have worked the first 3 rows you don´t need any more instructions.
