Ochos crochet top by Ameskeria: An easy, cool and very flattering tapestry crochet pattern

24 June, 2020

Hello! My name is Leire Villar and I am a professional crocheter. Here, at my personal label Ameskeria, I create content for different clients from the craft and publishing world. I have also published various ebooks. For example, the book titled Ganchitos which I created together with my friend Ingrid Valls. Ameskeria is a Basque word that means fantasy, imagination. From this starting point, I have gone along creating my universe with the aim of bringing innocence and freshness to traditional crochet. Colour, amigurumis and prints fascinate me. I also adore simple designs that are easy to make. Like the Ochos Top, a crochet top for summer that is so easy to make using Katia Fair Cotton.

In this free pattern, Leire combines her love of prints and simple designs in this crochet top with a lot of personality. The Ochos Top completes the series of 3 patterns designed with our Katia organic cotton Fair Cotton. You can find the other designs in our Fair Cotton Crochet magazine. The common denominator in all of Ameskeria’s patterns is the Tapestry Crochet technique. It’s definitely a perfect technique for using yarns to draw designs inspired by traditional knitted ‘ocho’ (cable) border designs. The result is a short, straight V neck crochet top in a vibrant colour. Get ready to enjoy crocheting an easy, cool and very flattering garment to look fantastic in this spring/summer. You only need 6 balls of Katia Fair Cotton in your favourite colour combination to show off the Ochos Top!
