Crochet floor cushion by Handmadejolie: Update your home decoration with this trendy square pouffe

10 March, 2020

I´m Mariska van der Neut, the designer behind Handmadejolie! If you enjoy making decor ideas, this crochet floor cushion made with Katia Big Ribbon is perfect for your home. My style is mainly natural shades such as white, grey, sand and taupe. I also love to experiment with different types of yarns like Big Ribbon, a XXL tape yarn lighter than t-shirt yarn. For a long time I wanted to design a large square floor pillow. Not a typical pouffe, but more like a mattress cushion.

This pattern is work in a simple but beautiful crochet stitch: half double crochet and double crochet stitches worked together as one stitch. I think it is an easy pattern for beginners and it works up quite fast thanks to Big Ribbon. So choose your two favourite colours and update your home decoration with this trendy square pouffe! Don´t forget to share your crochet floor cushion with me @handmadejolie and @katiayarns.

Explanation graph: here you can see the right side of the pillow with 4 sides. Firstly, attach the sides to the front panel (see pink lines). Secondly, sc together the bottom of the sides (see red lines). Add your IKEA pillows as you do this. Lastly, with color 10, close the side seams as shown with the blue lines.
