Boho Crochet Dreamcatcher by Lindsey Sophie: Decorate your home with this pattern for beginners

Hi all, my name is Lindsey Sophie (@lindseysophie) and today I have a boho crochet dreamcatcher for you. I personally love Ibiza style and I´m totally into boho vibes, which is why I like to crochet dreamcreatchers with feathers and ribbons. Consequently when Katia invited me for Katia Lovers, I decided to try something else: a dreamcatcher with pom poms. This pattern is quite simple and suitable for beginners who know the basic crochet stitches, such as single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet. We will also use the popcorn stitch, which will be explained in a video tutorial.

Decorate your home

The advantage of dreamcatchers is that you can use many different types of Katia yarns: cotton, acrylic, natural fibres… So you can completely customize it to your wishes. Play with different colors, add decoration such as beads, shells, feathers, pompoms, etc. The dreamcatcher itself is made with Katia Menfis (cotton) and for the pompoms I used Katia Basic Merino (acryl / merino superwash). Materials: 1 ball of Katia Menfis color 7 and 1 ball of Katia Basic Merino color 8, 9, 10 and 11; crochet hook 3.5mm, metal ring diameter 30cm, scissors, needle and feathers.

Measurements: 30 x 30 cm without feathers

Crochet stitches & abbreviations

• Ch: chain
• Ch-sp: chain space
• Sl st: slip stitch
• Sc: single crochet
• Hdc: half double crochet
• Dc: Double crochet
• Popcorn st: Popcorn stitch

Notes

• Pattern is worked in the round.
• First 2 or 3 ch of the row count as the first stitch.
• End each row with a sl st in the first st.

Crochet Dreamcatcher

Using Katia Menfis and crochet hook 3.5mm, start with a magic ring.

R1: 2Ch, 15hdc into ring, sl st in 2^nd ch.

R2: 3Ch, *1dc in next st, 7ch, 1dc in next st* repeat x7; 1dc in next st, 7ch.

R3: 1sc in next 3st, 2ch, 1dc in next 2st, 3ch, 1dc in next 3st, *(3dc, 3ch, 3dc) in next ch-sp* repeat.

R4: 1sc, 2ch, 1sc in next st, (2dc, 3ch, 2dc) in next ch-sp, 1dc in next 2st; *skip 2st, 1dc in next 2st, (2dc, 3ch, 2dc) in next ch-sp, 1dc in next 2st* repeat.

R5: 1sc, 2ch, 1dc in next 2st, (2dc, 3ch, 2dc) in next ch-sp, 1dc in next 3st, 1ch; *skip next 3st, 1dc in next 3st, (2dc, 3ch, 2dc) in next ch-sp, 1dc in next 3st, 1ch* repeat.

R6: 1sc, 2ch, 1dc in next 3st, 3ch, 1dc in next ch-sp, 3ch, 1dc in next 4st, 1ch; *skip 3st, 1dc in next 4st, 3ch, 1dc in next ch-sp, 3ch, 1dc in next 4st, 1ch* repeat.

R9: 2Ch, 1dc in next st, *(3ch, 1sc) in next ch-sp* x5, 3ch; *1dc in next 2st, skip 1st, 1dc in next 2st, (3ch, 1sc) in next ch-sp x5, 3ch* repeat.

Popcorn stitch

R10: 1sc, *(3ch, 1sl st) in next ch-sp* repeat x5, 3ch, skip 2st, 1 popcorn st in next st; **(3ch, 1sl st) in next ch-sp* repeat x5, 3ch, skip 2st, 1 popcorn stitch in next st* repeat.

Finishing up

Fasten off and leave a long end for sewing. Then, thread your long end through the 5 chain spaces. Repeat two more rounds and tie in a tight knot to secure.
