SCHOOL SMOCK SEWING TIPS

The pattern is an intermediate level and you will learn how to make a button placket, pockets, buttonholes, a shirt collar, yoke and sleeves with gathered cuffs. This is a very comprehensive project giving you the chance to learn various different sewing techniques.

Overlock or zig-zag stitch the edges of all the pieces to avoid the fabric edges unravelling.

If it helps you whilst sewing, you can baste the edges of each seam together first before sewing by machine.

Carefully follow all steps of the instruction with the help of the video tutorial, and you’ll have your beautifull bag ready to go before you know it. We encourage you to visit all our tutorials “Learn to sew” where we teach you different techniques that you can apply in many of your sewing projects.

All the pieces already have the 3/8″ (1.5 cm) seam allowance included.

We hope that you give it a go and that we can see your results using the hashtag #katiafabrics
